- Teaching methods
- The course is based on post-method (eclectic) language teaching methodology which uses parts of various teaching methods and combines them in order to achieve effective results. It utilizes lectures, language exercises (filling in gaps, matching, translation exercises, transformation exercise etc.), and above all communicative language activities.
- Assessment methods
- Continuous written tests whose format uses various item types (gap filling, multiple choice, matching, information transfer, short answer questions and translation from Czech to Arabic and vice versa) are used in the course. Class attendance is not required during the term but the students are strongly recommended to do so. They should participate actively in class work and fulfil their home assignments. Written test at the end of the term measures acquired level of language proficiency in Arabic in 3 skills (listening, reading and writing) plus in language in use (grammar and vocabulary). Passmark – 60%.
