Course objectives
Students will become familiar with the clinical pictures of   diagnoses The notion of   clinico-psychological work with   these patients. Listeners will also get awareness about   practice clinical psychologist in a medical facility, a   Following further care (psychiatric care, social assistance) and   legislative issues to help people with mental disorder  .

The content of the seminar:
- Integral complement theory
- Preparing for a four-day residency from   psychopathology
- The work of a case study based on psychiatric history prepared by students on placement

Course content: - integral supplement of theoretical education - preparing to four-days short-term attachment in psychopathology - working with (and for) the case-study based on psychiatric anamnesis.

  • Curriculum:
  • - social and juridical aspects of clinical psychologist working
  • - clinical psychology in practice
  • - demention and mental retardation
  • - delirium and mental disorders caused by psychoactive drugs
  • - schizofrenia
  • - affective and schizoaffective disorders
  • - personality structure and defence mechanisms
  • - borderline personality, narcistic personality, histrionic personality
  • - schizotypic personality, schizodid personality
  • - paranoic personality, dissocial personality
  • - evasive personality, addicted personality, obsedant-compulsive personality
  • - personality of psychotherapist
  • This topics will be demonstrated on case-studies:
  • - Psychological assessment (situation, content, formulation...).
  • - Observation and interview/anamnesis.
  • - Assessment of I.Q., memory and attention in clinical context (WAIS-III, WMS...).
  • - Questionnares and clinical scales (MMPI-II...).
  • - Projective and semiprojective techniques (drawings, ROR, psychosemantic methods...).
  • The goals:
  • - Types of contract in clinical psychology.
  • - Therapy, counselling, encounter...
  • - Psychological assessment.
  • - Ethic aspects in clinical psychology.
  • - Psychopathology in clinical context.
  • - Diagnosis, assessment specifics, differential analysis...
  • - Cognitive malfunctioning, psychosis, affectiv disorders and other clinical diagnosis.

Teaching methods
Seminars are taught as interactive lectures and through discussions. It would be supported by PowerPoints´ presentations. Other possibility for students is opportunity to use psychological assessment methods in practice way. Next ways of teaching are case studies.
Assessment methods
Active participation on seminars is expected from students. Evaluation will be based on case study, which should student write down during his/her internship in health-care institution.
