- Course objectives
- The seminar is dealing with field research of public events/cultural performances in the defined locations in Czech Republic and in Brno. Students work in team. the seminar begins with an introduction to basic theoretical texts, methodology of research and also the concrete public events/cultural performances are chosen. The results of the field research are discussed during the seminar.
Profiled seminar intended for second year students.
The seminar is held in Czech. - Learning outcomes
At the end of the seminar student will be able to:
- prove knowledge of basic definitions of the theatricality of public events;
- reflect his/her own experience;
- field research of public events/cultural performances;
- factual description of researched event;
- interpretation of symbolic meanings.- Syllabus
- Reading of the theoretical texts, learning about the methodology of the field research, choosing of location and events
- Continous research defined festivities, collecting of tha data
- Document processing, discusion in lessons
- Writing of the studies on each events
