Course objectives
The goal of the course is to introduce an informal coloquial Japanese to students who have already acquired basic knowledge of standard Japanese (especially in courses JPN111, JPN121, JPN211 and JPN221). Students learn about coloquial Japanese both in its reflected and non-reflected form. The content of the course shall also contribute to the students' image of linguistic variation in the system of Japanese language.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course students will be able to:
- state examples of expressions characteristic for coloquial Japanese
- characterise coloquial Japanese as a linguistic variation
- identify features of coloquial Japanese in a reflected text
- distinguish between formal and coloquial Japanese language in spoken discourse
