Course objectives
Students receive the list of works of fiction and historical sources, relating the course of newer history of Finland and Scandinavia (from the beginning of 18th till the beginning of 21th century). Then they have to read the certain number of items (in any language) and make excerpts following the instructions.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this couse students should be able to understand and explane main literary issues of the development of the newer Scandinavian literature.

Reading, essay writing.
Assessment methods
Self-study course (reading), students may consult the works with the teacher. The course closes with the written report on min. 2 Finnish/Scandinavian books.
