- Course objectives
- The set of lectures and seminars deals with theory and practice of work with qualitative data. The course offers an introduction to various methodological approaches. Proceedings of qualitative analysis and interpretation will be rather discussed from a perspective of a scholar treating a concrete qualitative project. A special focus is on interconnection of theoretical issues and analytical skills. The course will be based on using actual qualitative data sets and qualitative analysis programme Atlas/ti, its mastering is one of the course aims.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course students will be able to: Distinguish various types of qualitative data analysis. Choose an adequate analytic approach for a research project. Use advanced analytic techniques. Work with Atlas/ti software.

- 1. Introduction to software Atlas/ti. Data digitalization, advantages and disadvantages. 2. Quality of research. 3. Data analysis in case studies. 4. Data analysis in grounded theory. 5. Data analysis in biographic research. 6. Narrative analysis. 7. Situational analysis. 8. Advanded tools in Atlas/ti software. 9. Using advanced tools and techniques in a research project.
