- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide basic orientation in both theoretical and practical problems of history of music before early 15th century and to create the qualification for analytical and critical work with sources, repertory, special literature and sounding music.
- Learning outcomes
- After the finishing of the course VH_801a the student must be able: a) to provide basic orientation in both theoretical and practical problems of music history and b) to create the qualification for analytical and critical work with musical sources, repertory, special literature and orientation in the sounding and graphical form of music.

- Oral exam verificated the measure of the orientation in music history and its periodisation, knowledge of main genres, forms and types of medieval music, knowledge of cultural and philosophical contexts of this historical period, knowledge of most significant names of the medieval music, knowledge of sources and present state of research,special literature and main editions, reliable orientation in the sounding and graphical form of music of this historical period.
