Course objectives
Knowledge of the social context and history of the country is essential for a proper understanding of language and literature. In this course, students will learn about the geography, history, political situation, media, culture, etc. of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Each lesson is composed around a specific topic - current events, which will be critically discussed and set in a historical context. Students will prepare papers on each topic related to the topic. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the phenomenon of the Netherlands, but also to be able to formulate their views in the current political and cultural situation of this country. Students will deepen their knowledge by reading newspapers and watching other media.
Learning outcomes
Students will gain an awareness of the political, historical and cultural situation in the Netherlands and learn to prepare a presentation on the topic.
