Course objectives
In this course, students learn to think about literature in a scientific way. They learn how a literary article is structured and how they can write such an article themselves. They also learn to think critically about literature. In addition, they familiarize themselves with a number of trends in modern literature and receive information about contemporary Dutch and Flemish authors.
Learning outcomes
Students will learn about approaches to literary analysis and the latest contemporary literary research in the form of published articles.
Syllabus
  • The course covers the following topics: - reception of Dutch literature in the Czech Republic and in the world - literary market and the role of media - new trends and themes, millennials generation
Teaching methods
The intention is that the students read a scientific article every week and answer a number of questions. In addition, they carry out various assignments during the lesson.
Assessment methods
- active participation in the lessons (absence maximum twice) - preparation of the homework - paper at the end of the semester
