Course objectives
The aim of the course is to train future certified interpreters of Adaptation-Integration courses intended for Ukrainian immigrants. The two-day seminar is intended for students interested in the field of interpreting (between Czech and Ukrainian) who have active Ukrainian (spoken speech) at the C1 level. The program will be designed as a practical training in interpreting, whereby the participants will first become familiar with the content of the interpreted topics (e.g. residence legislation, health care, employment, etc.), which will be followed by the actual interpreting training accompanied by a discussion of terminology. In 2 days, the participants will interpret the content and go through the terminology of the official Adaptation and Integration Course for foreigners from third countries, the framework of which is the statute of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. After the seminar, according to their interest, the participants will be able to complete the prescribed qualification of an interpreter for these courses (interpreting a 4-hour course on a clean basis and then passing the Interpreter Exam before the Commission of the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic), so that they can subsequently interpret these courses on the basis of a trade license. The seminar is based on the official methodology created for the training of interpreters by the non-profit organization Slovo 21 under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, and will be led by professional interpreters and lecturers who have been working in the field of integration of foreigners for a long time.
