Course objectives
In the real conditions of an archaeological workplace the students apply their present knowledge, primarily from the sphere of field theory and practice, geodesy and expert knowledge of archaeological record.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- choose an appropriate method of field research
- make on-site documentation
- capture in photographs the key contexts on site
- take samples for environmental analyses
- process the information from field research into documentary form
- work as a museum curator.
Syllabus
  • During the vacation after the 1th year of study the students will pass Prediploma Praxis, which takes place at arbitrarily chosen excavations carried out by the Department of Archaeology and Museology, Archaeological Institute AS CR, Institute of Archaeological Heritage, museums, or other archaeological institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad.

During the excavations students are supposed to participate actively and individually in preparation, documentation and exploitation of archaeological find contexts.
