Course objectives
The aim of the course is to rehearse three folk dramas from the 16th and 17th centuries in an adapted form and present them to the public during the Night of Scientists. The performance will be videotaped with Czech and English subtitles.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - identify the main features of folk drama of the humanist period - perform lines of a selected role, according to modern dramatic principles - interact with fellow actors - perform a selected role in front of an audience - organise a theatre performance (props, publicity, quiz) - create subtitles for the video in Czech and English, or in other languages - describe the importance of staging an old play for contemporary audiences
