- Course objectives
- Lectures of Experts is a course taught by leading experts from the field of pedagogy and education, school legislation, state administration and self-government (from the field of educational policy at the regional or municipal level), from offices for studies of Rector’s offices at university level or at faculty level. In addition, experts from the Chamber of Commerce, editors of journals dealing with education, as well as experts on environmental education, leisure activities (leisure centres) and many others are invited. The topics of the lectures are always published at the beginning of the semester, because the content of the course partly changes every year. The aim of the course is to present to students the current topics, new approaches and the future direction not only of pedagogy, but also news in school legislation, topical issues of school administration or profiles of various professions in the field of education (school principals, officials from offices for studies, experts on teacher professional development, university management, etc.). An integral part of each lecture is an open discussion with the lecturer. The course is designed to prepare students for their own professional practice.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, the student will be able to: - understand new themes in pedagogy, education, educational policy, teacher professional education; - (better) assess the job content of the professions presented and the work of individual organizations; - describe and explain selected aspects of different professions in pedagogy, educational policy, teacher professional education, as well as editors of specialized educational journals, etc.; - describe and explain the tasks, competences and responsibilities of the selected professions; - apply acquired knowledge in one’s own professional practice.
