Syllabus
  • School Psychology for Students of Psychology A second-cycle course. No prerequisites. Course goal: surveying the various topics of school psychology for the purposes of psychologists as a field of psychology providing insights and methods for tackling psychologically relevant problems within the context of schooling. (In contrast to school psychology for teachers concentrating on psychological insights relevant for teachers – “psychology for teachers”.) Students will get acquainted with psychological theories, models and empirically tested observations modifying and making more efficient the work of the teacher in a normal or specialized class, with programmes of health support at elementary school, with the psychological grounding of early reading and writing, with the grounding of multicultural education, methods of teamwork at school, learning styles, the emotional burnout in teachers, and its sources, symptoms and possibilities of correction.
