Course objectives
Course description. The lecture will continue where the lecture of summer semester 2000 has stopped, i.e. after the generation from the beginning of the century follows the generation of Čapek. Different alternatives of development and literary practice will be dealt with both in the contemporary context and in the context of individual authors.
Syllabus
  • Syllabus: 1. Pre-war modernism in comparison with modernism of the 1890's. 2. The situation when the new generation is appearing, relations between generations. 3. Is new century beginning with the outburst of WWI? 4. Artistic movements at the beginning of the century. 5. General and individual problems, typical representatives of the generation.
