Course objectives
Rhetoric The objective of this optional course is to make the students familiar with basic terms concerning rhetoric and to teach them how to use such knowledge in practice. The theoretical part of the course will consist in the survey of the development of rhetoric as an independent field of study and its contemporary position among other disciplines with rhetoric connected (stylistics, theory of communication etc.). The theoretical knowledge, however, will not be our only occupation - the profession of a teacher requires a high level of the skill to transmit information, communicate with students and promptly react to situations which may occur during the lesson. That is why in this course we will also pay attention to the factors influencing the process of communication, the influence of such factors on the construction of addresses and to the development practical communicative skills.
