Komentovaná četba ukázek španělské renesanční prózy doprovázená výkladem tvoří hlavní náplň semináře. Cílem je blíže seznámit posluchače se základními žánry, které se v období renesance konstituovaly ve španělské literatuře: s románem rytířským (Amadís de Gaula Garci Rodríguez de Montalvo), pastýřským (Los sitete libros de Diana Jorge de Montemayora), pikareskním (Vida del pícaro Guzmán de Alfarache Matea Alemána), byzantským (Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda Miguela de Cervantes) a maurským (Historia del Abencerraje y de la Hermosa Jarifa od neznámého autora). Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována renesanční povídce (Novelas ejemplares Miguela de Cervantes). Seminář je zakončen zápočtem.
