Course objectives

The lecture will present Komenskýs life and work in connection with the development of society and with the Czech literary production of his time.

Syllabus

The lecture will follow the themes and genres that contributed to thinking and genre system of the time: polemics, consolations, encyclopedias, literary theory, didactics, biblistic works. It will attempt at presenting the work of Komenskýs contemporaries and the development of Komenskýs studies.
