Course objectives
Abstract The course concentrates on the field of absurd theatre.The comparison of the English, American, French, Polish and Czech absurd theatre introduce this type of the theatre to the students. The analysis and interpretation of the texts of the plays will be the imporatnt part of the course.

  • Synopsis: 1. Symbolism, surrealism, futurism, dada and absurd theatre 2. S. Beckett and the limits of metaphysics 3. The language's condensation in the plays by H. Pinter 4. E. Ionesco and sense of the human being in the world 5. S. Mrozek and Slavonic absurdism 6. Inherent logic in the plays by V. Havel
