Course objectives
The lecture will be based on the two main themes: on the character of the short story in the french 19th century and on the short history of the greatest works of this genre in the french literature.

  • Místo povídky v epickém žánru - Počátky a vývoj povídky jako žánru - Situace povídky na zač. 19. stol. Povídka období romantimsu - Nodier, Musset, Gautier, frenetikové Mérimée Povídka období "realismu" - Flaubert, Maupassant, Daudet Povídka "konce století" - Barbey d'Aurevilly, Villiers de l'Isle- Adam Humor "konce století" - Allais, Courteline
