Course objectives
The course will consist of historical and comparative analysis of concepts of film theories, aesthetics and poetics focusing on the period from 60s till present. The aim of the lectures is to provide an alternative to the chronological type of reading. We will discuss concepts like for example medium, genre, dispositif, identification, figuration, montage, movement, rhythm, color, light, emotions, text, intertextuality, intermediality. Assessment: test. Literature: : Helman, Alicja: Słownik pojęć filmowych I.-X. (Wrocław 1991-1998); Andrew, Dudley: Concepts in Film Theory (New York 1984); Stam, Robert & Burgyone, Robert & Flitterman-Lewis, Sandy: New Vocabularies in Film Semiotics (London 1993).

Povinně volitelná přednáška. Ukončení - kolokvium: písemný test.
