Course objectives
The course will deal with social aspects of communication, mainly with social factors and social dimensions in different types of discourse, focussing on the changing social and discursive practices. Authentic conversation, newspaper reporting and advetising will be analysed and compared with regard to social and discursive practices current in contemporary language use.
