Course objectives
The development of Greek over space and time: noun and verb categories, the development of the systems of declination and conjugation.
Syllabus
  • 1.Substantives of the 1st and 2nd declensions.
  • 2. Adjectives of the 1st/2nd declensions.
  • 3/4. Substantives and Adjectives of the 3rd declension.
  • 5. A Survey of Greek Adjectives and their gradation.
  • 6. A survey of Greek Pronouns ingl. the pronominal adverbs. A Survey of Greek Numerals (etymological comparison of Greek, Latin, Czech, German, English expressions).
  • 7. The types of verbal conjugation.
  • 8. The thematic verbs.
  • 9. The athematic verbs.
  • 1O. The nominal forms of Greek verb.
  • 11/12. Analysis of the verbal categories (person, number, tense, mood, voice).
