Course objectives
In this seminar we will focus on the works of Czech writers whose main activity falls to the second half of the twentieth century. We will concentrate especially on the works with the themes of love. We will try to figure out not only the difference of each author's approach to the love story, but we will also target the other circumstances which the author wrote about (and which they wrote in). This way we will try to shape relations between the epoch and the love story.

Ivan Klíma: Meetings and brake-ups of lovers 6. Arnošt Lustig: Fatal losses of solitaire personalities 7. Vladimír Páral: Routine and burn-outs in love relationships 8. Pavel Kohout: Ethic x emotions 9. Ludvík Vaculík: Love – diary 10. Eda Kriseová: Love as an escape from reality 11. Miroslav Skála: Love in humor depiction 12. Colloquium: discussion over the obligatory readings
