Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to give an insight into various contemporary folklore phenomena with a particular emphasis on Moravia. Changes in ethnological research methods and subject matter will be discusses. Some theoretical points of departure of folklore research and an introduction to various field research projects will be presented. Traditional as well as new phenomena in both everyday and festive culture will be identified using elected examples complete with audiovisual recordings.
