Course objectives
The course introduces basic morphological and syntactic phenomena of normative Latin grammar. Special attention is given to practical proficiency geared primarily toward reading comprehension of elementary Latin texts.
Syllabus
  • Morphology: subjunctive mood, comparison of adjectives and adverbs, numerals, perfect system of verbs, pronouns (demonstrative and interrogative), irregular verbs. Syntax: indicative subordinate clauses (time and relative), direct questions.

Assessment methods
Contents of the semester:
Class exercises, two semestral tests.
Requirements for credit:
regular active attendance at seminars (75%) and successful scores in a shorter test administered during the semester and a final one.
