Kurz se zabývá emocemi jako konstitutivní složkou různých typů a forem vizuálního umění od starověku po současnost, včetně filmových děl a nových médií. Úvodní hodiny budou věnovány pohledu na koncept "emocí" v soudobé filozofii, psychologii, neurobiologii. Téma budeme dále rozvíjet pomocí detailnich studií konkrétních uměleckých děl, kde se soustředíme především na různé způsoby zobrazování emocí, formy afektivního působení výtvarných děl na diváky, role emocí v interpretaci a zprostředkování umění aj.

Course objectives
The course focuses on emotions as a¨n essential component of various types of visual rts from antiquity to present. It will present current theories of emotions in psychology and cognitive science; detailed studies of specific works of art with focus on different means of represneting emotions, ways in which works of art affect their viewers emotrionally, the role of emotions, role of emotions in interpretation of works of art etc.
