Course objectives
Students will achieve knowledge of basements of andragogy and of principles of adults learning generally. They will understand specifics of using teaching methods in the process of adult education. Factors influencing effectiveness of learning process will be discussed and also methods and forms of adult learning. Special attention will be focused on the personality and techniques of lecturers work.
Syllabus
  • 1. Didactics of adult education – disciplinary framework, characteristics.
  • 2. Adult education today and its context.
  • 3. Didactics of adult education, effectivity of methods and forms in adult education.
  • 4. Open and distance education and their specifics.
  • 5. Learning styles of adults, motivation and barriers. Individual learner approach.
  • 6. Transfer to life and work situations. Reflexive practice.
  • 7. Development of a course, module, lesson. Structure, objectives, processes.
  • 8. Learner's impact on adult education content and processes (training needs analysis, expectations, evaluation etc.).
  • 9. In-company training systems.
