Course objectives
The course is engaged in genre presumptions and genre limits of the novel-epopee, i. e. the relationship between the epic and the novel, the relationship between the novel and the novel-epopee, and finally the relationship between the novel-epopee and next related variants of the novel genre. This represents a way out of motivic, thematic and sujet analysis of large epic structures, bearing signs of novel-epopee in the Slovak (partially in the Czech) literature from the seventies to the nineties of 20th century. The typologically-structural description of this signs is followed (and commented) by interpretive aplication, deriving benefit from advancements of the theory of interliterariness in application to development patterns of the Czech-Slovak interliterary community.
