Course objectives
After completing the course students will be acquainted with the methods of scientific work in the Brno branch of the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i., as well as its environment. Students will be able to describe the preparation and realization of a research project. Students will be able to identify the methods of research and documenting (carrying out bibliographic search, creating bibliographies, performing analogue as well as digital copying of articles). They will be able to write a scientific text better (research report with specifications given by the research project).
Syllabus
  • Getting acquainted with the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i. Presentations of a research project with the specification of questions to be dealt with and the research space, which will be scientific libraries (Národní knihovna, Moravská zemská knihovna, Vědecká knihovna Olomouc, libraries of archives, museums and other institutions). Plan of involving students in a research project. Independent realization of research. Writing a research report under the direction of the lecturer.
