Course objectives
Students will be able to reflect on the changes in the film industries of Czechslovakia, Poland and GDR. They will get a knowledge of the relation between film industry and the governmental bodies and will use the tool of comparative analysis for solving concrete research tasks.
Syllabus
  • - discussion about the sources for the research into the cultural policy and film industry in the post-war Czechoslovakia - discussion about the sources for the research into the cultural policy and film industry in the post-war GDR - discussion about the sources for the research into the cultural policy and film industry in the post-war Poland - a comparison of the changes in the respective countries - solving individual research tasks
