Course objectives
Morphology is that part of grammar which treats of the parts of speech and their inflexion. The aim of the course is to make participants acquainted with the forms of number and case of nouns and pronouns, the forms of tense, mood, etc. of verbs, the forms of degrees of adjective comparison. The main attention concentrates upon the verbs.
Syllabus
  • The relation of morphology to other grammatical disciplines and the criteria to the classification of words according to their morphological, syntactic and semantic characteristics. Parts of speech: verbs, types of verbs, morphology of lexical auxiliary verbs: regular and irregular verbs.

Teaching methods
1 hour (45 min.) lecture and 1 hour seminar per week The seminar is based on methods of presentation, analysis and synthesis of knowledge. It also uses collective work, in-class discussions and individual work of students.
