Course objectives (in Czech)
The central topic of the course is the description and interpretation of the main catholic liturgy the so called "Holly Mass" or "Eucharistic Prayer" from the point of view of the scientific study of religion. In the first unit we will observe the most important structural elements of the liturgy. In the second unit we will summarize the main point of the ritual theory of Catherine Bell as main theoretical framework for deeper analysis of the holy mass. In the third unit we analyze the structure and the main parts of the holy mass and we will also search parallelisms to sacred teaching and eating in different other religions.
