Course objectives
The goal of the course is to introduce concepts of a thesis, methods of scientific work within the given field of research. After finishing the course the student is able to:
understand the general purpose of a thesis;
define goals of his/her own thesis;
describe the formal structure of a thesis;
choose an appropriate form of notations;
create a bibliography of his/her thesis with respect to a given norm;
interpret basic secondary literature with respect to the character of one's thesis;
individually write a thesis.
Syllabus
  • The content of the course is not fixed, it is based on the topics of the final thesis' and on the methodological approach of the lecturer.
  • The course contains:
  • Purpose and goals of a thesis in the Japanese Studies
  • Structure of a thesis
  • Choice of a transcription and the content of a transcription note
  • Notation
  • Bibliography and citation norms
  • etc.
