Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain the basic features of the Russian and the previous Soviet reality, geography, religion historical geography and politics;learn the history of culture in juxtaposition to the history of Russia;learn the history of culture from the ancient times to the 20th century; write paper according to the own interests. (using the audiovisual technique in the course;

Assessment methods
The colloquium - a written test, an individual final project: a paper (in Czech or Russian) on a theme chosen individually: 9000 signs, a list of the used literature, an abstract written in Russian or in one of the world languages - different from the language of the paper.
