Course objectives
The goal of the course is the ovierview of the history of Czech and central European architecture of 20th century, from the „Secession“, cubism and early modern movement to the International Style between WWI and WWII till the late modernism , postmodernism, high tech and deconstructivism from 1945 to the end of the century. The development of Czech architecture will be interpreted on the background of the international movement with the accent on leading personalities.

  • I. Secese, kubismus a moderna /4 přednášky/: Wagner a jeho škola, Kotěra, Plečnik, Loos, kubismus a jeho představitelé * II. Funkcionalismus /6 přednášek/: Český funkcionalismus a jeho představitelé – Roškot, Fuchs, Fragner, KOLDOM; Le Corbusier, Hans Scharoun, Bauhaus, Brno, Baťa - Zlín * III. Architektura po 2.světové válce /2 přednášky/: Pozdní moderna, postmoderna, high tech a dekonstruktivismus
