Course objectives
At the end of the course Interpreting Seminar I, the student will have the knowledge on consecutive interpretation, on consecutive without notes and with notes. The student will also have a basic knowledge of the methods of practicing sight translation.

  • 1) Bibliography to consecutive interpretation 2) Familiarization with the most common types of interpreting 3) Training of consecutive interpretation (without notes and with notes) 4) Introduction to methods of practicing consecutive translation 5) Sight translation

Teaching methods
Acquisition of basic knowledge about the types of interpretation, and about the professional qualities of the interpreter. Auto-training methods. Practicing of consecutive interpretation without notes and with notes-taking. Practicing of sight translationt.
Assessment methods
Practical oral examination of consecutive interpretation. The student must also complete a course in the ELF (e-learning).
