Course objectives
During the vacation after the 1st year of study the students will pass Field Practice I- a 3 week course of fieldwork at the scientific research base of Masaryk University-Těšetice Kyjovice. In the real conditions of archaeological excavations the students will apply their hitherto knowledge, primarily from the sphere of field theory and practice, geodesy and expert knowledge of material culture. During the excavations students are supposed to actively and individually participate in preparation, documentation and exploitation of the archaeological find situations. Some students may possibly be chosen to participate in archaeological research abroad (the Near East, the Mediterranean).

Teaching methods
Involvement in archaeological research in Těšetice-Kyjovice. The students will learn methods of documentation of archaeological research, stratigraphy, data processing, collaboration with related disciplines in the field and evaluation of sources.
Assessment methods
credits for active participation in the preparation, documentation and exploitation of archaeological find situations.
