Course objectives
The course provides an introduction to the problems of religion and violence on several levels, including inter religious conflicts, as well as violence performed and insitutionalized within particular religious traditions. The course is based on a wide definition of violence as not only physical act, but also as verbal action. Particular lectures will deal with special cases of violence concerning various religious traditions all over the world and various historical periods.
