Course objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to literatures in English other than Anglo-American literary canon. The specific focus is on Australian and Canadian literatures, their developments, socio-historical contexts, as well as their position in the process of nation building in these settler colonies.
Learning outcomes
Students will be familiar with other than British and American literatures, esepcially those in Australia and Canada. They will have a better understanding of how these literatures have developed, what the main features are, how they contributed to articulation of settler national identities and also how they critically intervene in these national identities.

Evaluation will be based on in-class participation and an essay at the end of the course.
