Course objectives
This course develops cultural, political, and geographical themes. With reference to Italian regions, topics as the government, the economy of the nation, family relationships, the linguistic and cultural diversity of the country will be taken into consideration.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student is able to: - describe the geographical features of the Italian peninsula - identify and summarize the main features of Italian institutions and Italian politics - describe the main features of the Italian economy -identify and summarize different cultural aspects and traditions concerning Italian regions, family and social life

  • The course develops themes on geography, the government, the economy and the culture of Italy. Articles and audio/video materials are used for the lessons.

Teaching methods
Exposition and definitions of basic terms and their exemplification on different types of specific text.
Assessment methods
The course finishes with a zapocet. To obtain it, students must have the following pre-requisites: 1.Attendance of at least 70% of the course 2.Reading short articles during the semester 3.Taking a final written test which includes a questionnaire on the course contents.
