- Course objectives
- The content of the course includes the practise of orthography phenomena in the form of various writing and oral exercises (dictations, gap filling exercises, confrontational exercises, texts corrections and so on), at the same time, the argumentation of solving certain orthographical problems ability is controlled.
The course aim is to strengthen the correct written speech skills in Russian; to improve the knowledge of Russian orthography rules by choosing the parts that cause problems for students; the development of language competence with using the earlier learned vocabulary and knowledge from other fields (phonetical and morphological phenomena).
The course has e-learning support. - Learning outcomes
- The student:
- will acquaint with the theoretical principles of correct writing;
- will learn the correct writing in Russian skills.
The student will be able:
- to apply the learned knowledge in written speech;
- to explain the writing of difficult orthographical phenomena. - Syllabus
- Topics:
- 1. The spelling of the negative particle ne in substantives, adjectives, participles and verbs.
- 2. Writing of the vocals after the consonants zh, sh, ch, shch.
- 3. Writing of the vocals after the C.
- 4. Writing of the soft and the hard signs.
- 5. The separating hard and soft signs.
- 6. The hard and soft vocals I in the words roots, in prefixes, suffixes and inflections.
- 7. The unstressed vocals in the words roots.
- 8. The unstressed sounds in prefixes and suffixes.
- 9. The letter E.
- 10. The letter Y.

- The classes will be in form of seminar (theoretical parts lead by teacher are alternated with the students’ independent work). Students will have the e-learning training tasks and additional materials to each of discussed topic (in the e-learning support).
