Course objectives
The aim of the course is to help the students to learn and to understand the Italian contex by means of cultural, historical, geographical adn administrative themes.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know several aspects and themes of Italian culture and civilization. Using specific lexicon, he will be able to talk about -Italian regions -administration -national hymn and Constitution -Rome and Roman history -some capital historical periods such as, for example, Renaissance, Risorgimento or Fascism -prominent personalities of the past an present from different areas of life such as Art, Architecture or Technology.

Teaching methods
Lessons are often divided into two parts: the first one more theoretical aimed to talk about a specific theme and 2) the second one, more practical, aimed to focus on the lexicon of the theme, with activities and exercises. Articles and audio/video materials are used for the lessons. Students have to prepare short presentations and do the homeworks.
Assessment methods
Attendance of at least 70% of the course. Final written test which includes a questionnaire on the course contents.
