Course objectives
The aim of the seminar is to introduce students to the development of interpreting competencies for: 1) Consecutive interpreting 2) Simultaneous interpreting.
Learning outcomes
Students are acquainted with the tools that will enable them to effectively develop their interpreting competencies.

  • 1. Introduction. The importance of thorough preparation as the first phase of the interpretation process, previous to interpreting. Exercise memory. 2. Workshop I. 3. The rhetorical component of interpretive performance - consecutive interpreting. 4. Workshop II. - Consecutive interpreting from Spanish to Czech 5. Workshop III. - Consecutive interpreting from Czech to Spanish 6. The rhetorical component of interpreting performance - simultaneous interpreting 7. Workshop IV. - Simultaneous interpreting from Spanish to Czech 8. The Presentation component of interpreting performance - consecutive interpreting 9. Workshop V. - Consecutive Interpreting from Spanish to Czech 10. Workshop VI.- Consecutive Interpreting from Czech to Spanish 11. Workshop VII.- Simultaneous Interpreting from Spanish to Czech 12.
