Course objectives
Individual lessons of the course are devoted to the most striking authors and problems from the generation of modern Ukrainian literature to contemporary literature. The subject is focused on broadening and deepening the knowledge of Ukrainian literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. Students are encouraged to understand the Ukrainian literature and literary criticism of this period. Emphasis is also placed on the analysis of specific books and the interpretation of literary works in the Ukrainian literary context. Students will understand the historical and theoretical problems of Ukrainian literature and literary criticism of the 20th and 21st centuries, the student will be able to talk about Ukrainian literature in a broader cultural and literary context as well as being able to handle the analysis of specific works by leading Ukrainian writers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to focus on the most fundamental issues currently addressed by Ukrainian literary criticism.
