Course objectives (in Czech)
The course aims for the students to learn about and experience the practice at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. In the series of Teaching Practice courses the students cooperate with their mentors in schools to gain practical insight into the school reality and develop professionally as teachers of English as a foreign language. To experience the diverse reality of the Czech educational system, students realize the three courses (Teaching Practice 1, 2 and 3) at a minimum of 2 different schools.

  • Students participate in external teaching at a selected secondary school. The number of hours spent at the school and their distribution according to individual activities is stated here: https://www.phil.muni.cz/student/pedagogicke-praxe. Students arrange their teaching practice in accordance with the information given here: https://www.phil.muni.cz/student/pedagogicke-praxe. Students realize their practice during the teaching period of the semester. Students start their practice only after: 1. The administrative process of the practice arrangement is completed. 2. The semester introductory meeting at the department (this is realized in connection to the corresponding Reflective Seminar). The practice is continuous. The students are expected to spend about 1 - 2 days per week for the period of 10 weeks in the school.

To pass the course successfully students need to: - Participate in external practice at a selected secondary school in a professional manner. The number of hours and their distribution is described here: https://www.phil.muni.cz/student/pedagogicke-praxe - Submit all the required documents (reflective diary, (self)evaluation document in pdf, portfolio, in some cases Agreement) by the deadline specified for the particular semester.
