- In order to be admitted to the seminar, a student must have successfully finished the 4th semester of their studies, obtained the required number of credits and fulfilled the required readings.

- Course objectives
- Individual consultations with the thesis advisor which take place according to the needs of a student and with regard to the quality and completedness of the thesis. The diploma thesis addresses a scholarly issue at a level appropriate to the degree being pursued. In the diploma thesis the student must demonstrate the ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature and the ability to analyze the issue under study.
- Syllabus
- The aim of the diploma seminar is to assist the student with completing the diploma thesis and prepare for its successful defence. The timetable for the consultations is arranged on an individual basis. Students are required to present a work-in-progress of their diploma thesis in the framework of the Thesis Seminar of the Department of Classical Studies.

- Individual advisor-student tutorial in methodology of writing the diploma thesis: synopsis, introduction, methods of text analysis, argumentation and conclusion. Presentation of the work-in-progress in the MA Thesis Seminar.

- The advisor awards the course-unit credit for the semester on the basis of progress made and according to the student-advisor consultations.
