Doporučujeme před tímto předmětem absolvovat LMKA_a10 Literární dílo: pozorování, analýza, interpretace, kontextualizace (doporučení platí zejména pro studující s jiným než filologickým zázemím a bez zkušenosti s teorií literatury).

Course objectives
The seminar will introduce students to various interpretation strategies developed by the key movements in literary theory, aesthetics, and philosophy since the beginning of the 20th century. The lessons will further include critical analysis of theoretical texts and in-class interpretation of particular literary and artistic texts or social discourses.
Learning outcomes
Having attended the seminar, students will be able to:
- understand various methodological approaches to text, society, and cultural practices, and to critically evaluate these methodologies,
- consider the particular methods and interpretation approaches in a broader philosophical, aesthetic and cultural context,
- apply theoretical approaches to interpreting texts,
- gain a better understanding of issues in contemporary humanities,
- use the acquired knowledge and skills in their own interdisciplinary research.
