Course objectives
The course is linked with the topics of lectures, which are here extended and addressed in more detail through the medium of papers prepared by students. Students elaborate an essay with complete bibliography and summary in English. Presentations on the subject of the essay are held in Czech or English depending on students’ choice and possibilities. The class discussion also is held in Czech or English depending on students’ preferences.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- work independently and creatively with professional text
- critically reflect on professional publications on selected topics of archaeology of the Roman Period and Migration Period in Central Europe

Theoretical preparation of papers, working with scientific literature and other information sources, presentations of papers by students, class discussion about the topic. Assessment methods
Seminar, credit.
Completion requirements: adequate attendance at the seminar (2 absences excused), active engagement in lessons, a paper/an essay (verbal and written elaboration) with summarised results in English (written summary/abstract in the extent of 800 characters).
