Course objectives
The aim of the course is to study primary sources in the area of the students’ research. The course focuses on the development of both practical and methodological skills of students necessary for philological research in theIR field.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course students will be able to work with Latin resp. Greek primary sources; they will udnerstand specific features of primary sources relevant for their dissertation; they will master both practical and theoretical skills necessary for a critical study of primary sources of their field.
Syllabus
  • Study of primary sources relevant for the topic of the dissertation is organized as 1. individual research and 2. regular meetings with the tutor (the frequency of meetings depends on the demands of students but the minimum is one meeting per semester). Students regularly discuss their progress in the primary research, news, new findings and methodological approaches relevant for the topic of his/her dissertation.
Literature
  • Literatura je předepsána individuálně podle tématu práce. Literature is assigned on an individual basis based on the topic of the thesis.
Teaching methods
Independent research; tutorials.
Assessment methods
Credits are granted on the basis of regular tutorials with the supervisor.
